Greetings, all!
I wanted to take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year! It’s been a while since my last post, but things at the Phil have been busy (for me, moreso than I have been accustomed to), and when I get a bit of free time I usually spend it with my family rather than on the computer.
Nevertheless, by redoing my site I wanted to make sure I didn’t neglect it due to lack of ease of updating, so here’s my most recent one.
One of the more exciting things for me here recently is the release of one of the first big Philharmonic iTunes recordings which I’ve been on -- our performances of Tchaikovsky’s 6th Symphony from October of this year with our Music Director, Lorin Maazel. It’s on the DG Concerts series, available through iTunes - and that’s the last of the plugs for it!
Right now I’m in the midst of a two week long break from the orchestra - something which I’m thoroughly enjoying - before we start back up with our Live from Lincoln Center New Year’s Eve concert, broadcasted on PBS stations around the country at 8 PM. Some good rep on that, including a Suite from Swan Lake and Ravel’s Bolero; obviously good trombone rep!
That’s all for now, and I’ll be back with more when I can - hopefully soon!
